GLOBAL ALERT: Planetary Alignments - Earthquake Watch For November 29-30, 2013 Indicate That A Very Powerful 7.0 Magnitude Tremor Could Hit Japan, About The Same Time That Comet ISON Reaches Perihelion With The Sun!

November 20, 2013 - EARTH - Three very strong Planetary Alignments (Venus-Sun-Saturn), supported by (Venus-Earth-Jupiter) and (Mercury-Sun-Uranus) fall during this time-frame with strong Lunar astrological aspects indicate a potential for a 6.5-7.0 Magnitude Earthquake for the Western Honshu, Japan Region on either one of these forecast days.

This is my own analysis using Heliocentric Imagery, geocentric portrait and harmonic translations to predict possible effects here on earth.

I am using astrological aspects in this forecast in-conjunction with lunar modulation and extremes in orbital orientation. - Solar Watcher.

WATCH: Earthquake Watch - November 29-30, 2013.

Coincidentally, Comet ISON, touted as the "comet of the century," is now in full "outburst mode," having brightened dramatically over the course of the last week and will reach perihelion (the comet's close graze past the surface of the sun) on about November 28 or 29.

According to amateur astronomers across the globe, it's now visible to the naked eye.

COMET ISON PLUNGES TOWARD THE SUN: Comet ISON is plunging toward the sun at 140,000 mph (62 km/s). You can almost feel the velocity in this image taken on the morning of Nov. 20th by astronomers using the 0.4 meter telescope at the Observatorio de la Hita in La Puebla de Almoradiel, Toledo, Spain:

"The comet looked very bright," report the observing team. "The tail was not as well defined today because of the proximity of morning twilight...but still splendid!!"

The comet is brightening rapidly as it approaches the sun. Experienced observers put ISON's rising magnitude near +4.0, well above the threshold of naked-eye visibility. The problem is, the glare of the sun is brightening even faster. Amateur photography of the comet will be possible for a few more days and, soon, only NASA's fleet of solar observatories will be able to track the sundiver.

Observationally speaking, the next big event in the timeline of Comet ISON's journey comes on Nov. 21st when the comet enters the field of view of NASA's STEREO-A spacecraft. The Heliospheric Imager on STEREO-A will pick up the comet just as Earth-bound telescopes begin to lose it. In the days that follow, STEREO-B, SOHO and the Solar Dynamics Observatory will join the hunt, providing continuous views of Comet ISON all the way to perihelion (closest approach to the sun) on Nov. 28th. - Space Weather.

MONUMENTAL EARTH CHANGES: Global Volcanism & Geological Upheaval - Japan's Nishino-Shima Submarine Volcanic Eruption Gives Birth To New Island!

November 20, 2013 - JAPAN - A volcanic eruption has raised an island in the seas to the far south of Tokyo, the Japanese coast guard and earthquake experts said.

Advisories from the coast guard and the Japan Meteorological Agency said the islet is about 200 meters (660 feet) in diameter. It is just off the coast of Nishinoshima, a small, uninhabited island in the Ogasawara chain, which is also known as the Bonin Islands.

The coast guard issued an advisory Wednesday warning of heavy black smoke from the eruption. Television footage seen Thursday showed heavy smoke, ash and rocks exploding from the crater, as steam billowed into the sky.

A volcanologist with the coast guard, Ito Hiroshi, told the FNN news network that it was possible the new island might be eroded away.

"But it also could remain permanently," he said.

The last time the volcanos in the area are known to have erupted was in the mid-1970s. Much of the volcanic activity occurs under the sea, which extends thousands of meters deep along the Izu-Ogasawara-Marianas Trench.

Japan's chief government spokesman welcomed the news of yet another bit, however tiny, of new territory.

"This has happened before and in some cases the islands disappeared," Yoshihide Suga said when asked if the government was planning on naming the new island.

"If it becomes a full-fledged island, we would be happy to have more territory."

It is produced by a new submarine eruption which is currently taking place about 500 m southeast of Nishino-Shima island.

The eruption was first spotted by Japanese navy this morning at 10:20 (local time) who documented surtseyan activity at the eruption site (explosive interaction of sea-water and lava, generating violent jets of steam and ash).

It appears that the eruption has already built an island of about 200 m diameter in size, which suggests that the vent was already located in very shallow waters.

A small steam and ash plume rising to about 2000 ft (600 m) was reported by VAAC Tokyo. The last known eruption of the volcano occurred in 1973. - Volcano Discovery.

ICE AGE NOW: Arctic Blast Ahead - Montana Sees An Incredible 40-Degree Temperature Drop In Just TWO HOURS?!

November 20, 2013 - UNITED STATES -  A new blast of Arctic air that will engulf the central and eastern states through the weekend made an impressive initial appearance in Montana on Tuesday.

Tuesday's Temperatures

Thermometers in the northern Montana city of Great Falls recorded an incredible temperature drop of nearly 40 degrees in just two hours.

At 3:53 p.m., the temperature was 52 degrees, about 11 degrees above the average high for the day.

During the next hour, the Arctic cold front pushed through and dropped the temperature to 19 degrees by 4:53 p.m. At 5:53 p.m., it was a frigid 13 degrees, completing the near 40-degree drop in two hours.

Residents of the city woke up to a low of 8 degrees Wednesday morning. While very cold, it was well short of the record low of -19 set in 1900.

Sunday's Highs

As mentioned earlier, this arctic air that made an initial appearance in Montana on Tuesday is set to spread south and east the next few days.

Thursday, the Front Range of the Rockies and the northern Plains will see well below-average temperatures.

By Saturday and Sunday, the colder-than-average temperatures will engulf the central and eastern states from Chicago and New York to Atlanta and Dallas. - Wunderground.

GLOBAL AWAKENING: The Embracing Of Mother Nature And Detaching From European Vampirism - Hawaii's Big Island Bans Biotech Companies And GMO Crops!

November 20, 2013 - HAWAII - The governing council for Hawaii (or Big) Island Tuesday banned biotech companies from operating on the island while barring growth of genetically modified organisms.

The Hawaii County Council approved Bill 113 by a vote of 6-3, which would mandate a possible 30 days in jail and up to a $1,000 fine for any violator of the ban on growing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) on Big Island, officially known as Hawaii Island, the largest and southernmost of the Hawaiian state.

The bill also keeps out biotech giants like Monsanto, Dow and BASF, which have operations on other Hawaiian islands. One of them, Kauai, recently advanced its own legislation that increases regulation of biotech companies there.

The large papaya industry, with around 200 farms on Big Island, would be exempt from the bill, which was supported over a competing bill that that would have subjected papayas to the rules.

Big Island Mayor Billy Kenoi has 10 days to decide whether to approve the council’s bill. The council could override a veto by Kenoi with a vote from six members.

"We are at a juncture," Councilwoman Margaret Wille, who introduced the bill, said to Honolulu Civil Beat of the Big Island. "Do we move forward in the direction of the agro-chemical monoculture model of agriculture, or do we move toward eco-friendly, diversified farming?"

Civil Beat reported extensive public testimony on the bill in September, marked by passionate statements by several residents.

“Forcing genes of one species into another and changing the DNA of plants is not natural and could turn out to be a huge danger, similar to nuclear disasters, for our planet that we can’t put out,” one woman testified.

Supporters of the ban linked cancer, birth deformities, tumors, sterility and other conditions to GMO consumption.

Yet small farmers worry the measure, aimed at much larger companies, will leave them without access to new technologies that could aid their operations, Civil Beat reported.

"How can you say you can only farm what you are farming now?" Dean Okimoto, president of the Hawaii Farm Bureau, said. "You may be putting guys out of business by restricting what they can and cannot use going forward. The cattle guys are depending on trying to develop a drought resistant grass."

Supporters of GMOs say adverse effects of food that comes from the manipulation of an organism’s genetic material are unproven at this point. The US Department of Agriculture says over 80 percent of corn and over 90 percent of soy in the US, for instance, are GMOs.

Yet science is also inconclusive on whether genetically engineered products cannot cause long-term harm to human health. At least, that is the consensus held by the several dozen countries which have banned or severely restricted their use worldwide.

“While risk assessments are conducted as part of GE product approval, the data are generally supplied by the company seeking approval, and GE companies use their patent rights to exercise tight control over research on their products,” the Union of Concerned Scientists says about GMOs. “In short, there is a lot we don't know about the risks of GE - which is no reason for panic, but a good reason for caution.”

The organization - a broad coalition of scientists and citizens dedicated to “rigorous, independent science” without “political calculations or corporate hype” - adds there are concerns about GMOs beyond basic health problems that have been linked to their consumption.

“Rather than supporting a more sustainable agriculture and food system with broad societal benefits, the technology has been employed in ways that reinforce problematic industrial approaches to agriculture,” the Union states. “Policy decisions about the use of GE have too often been driven by biotech industry PR campaigns, rather than by what science tells us about the most cost-effective ways to produce abundant food and preserve the health of our farmland.”

Citizens of Washington State recently defeated - by a small margin - a referendum that would have required the labeling of genetically altered foods. The anti-labeling campaign was supported by a flood of overwhelming donations from titans like Monsanto, PepsiCo and Grocery Manufacturers Association, a major lobbying group for the food industry.

Los Angeles is also considering a ban on the cultivation, sale and distribution of genetically modified organisms.

In July, widespread opposition to GMOs led Monsanto to largely cease pushing them in the European market, where they face substantial government oversight. - RT.

FIRE IN THE SKY: Fireball Explodes Over Portland, Oregon!

November 20, 2013 - UNITED STATES - Something in the sky Wednesday morning had people in the Portland metro area looking up and asking, "What is that?"

Ed Tynan / Portland

The Fox 12 newsroom received several photos of objects passing through the sky above Oregon shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

One FOX 12 viewer wrote she noticed "a strange line in the sky" in Beaverton.

"As it continued down, the trail behind it started to spread out as you can see in the pictures. Then it lit up like a fireball," she wrote.

Another witness on Marine Drive said he spotted three objects in the sky around 7:15 a.m.

"I ran inside to grab my camera after I saw the first two and when I came out this one was breaching our atmosphere," he said.

Jim Todd, OMSI's director of space science education, said some of the photos seem to depict an explosion. That would indicate it's a fireball. However, one thing is missing for that to be the case.

"So far, there is no indication there was a sonic boom," he said.

Todd said it could also be a contrail that formed behind an airplane. He said what looks like an explosion in the photos could actually be the rising sun reflecting off a cloud layer.

"The verdict is still out whether it was a fireball or a contrail," he said.

Just three weeks ago, a fireball was reported above the Pacific Northwest and investigated by the American Meteor Society. - 14 News.

WEATHER ANOMALIES: "We've Never Seen Anything Like That" - Glowing Lake In Puerto Rico Mysteriously Goes Dark, Scientists Stymied?!

November 20, 2013 - PUERTO RICO - A glowing lagoon off Puerto Rico's northeast coast has gone nearly dark and biologists on Tuesday were trying to find out why.

Theories range from an increase in construction runoff to inclement weather to people clearing mangroves to allow larger boats into the area.

"We have been compiling data," Carmen Guerrero, secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, said in a phone interview as she headed toward Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve with a team of scientists to investigate the problem. "There are a lot of factors that could be at play."

The bioluminescent lagoon, often referred to as a bay, attracts tourists who set out in kayaks or boats by night from the neighboring city of Fajardo to see waters that glow when microscopic organisms are disturbed. A greenish light swirls off hands and arms as visitors trail them through the water.

But the bioluminescence has dropped so much that tour operators have had to cancel trips and reimburse visitors, Guerrero said.

Fajardo Mayor Anibal Melendez told reporters that the lagoon has been dark for at least eight days.

"We've never seen anything like that," he said.

Melendez blamed runoff from the construction of a nearby water and sewer treatment plant, and he has asked that the plant be moved elsewhere.

Officials involved with the plant deny it's the cause. But as a preventive measure, the government temporarily suspended construction at the project for two weeks until scientists from various agencies including the U.S. Geological Survey can figure out what is causing the problem, Guerrero said.

She stressed that officials do not know if possible construction runoff is to blame. Recent rains and a storm that is generating heavy waves is another possibility for affecting the lagoon's bioluminescence, Guerrero said.

"It's important to give these experts room so they can do their job and help us understand what happened in the lagoon and why it has temporarily lost some of its brightness," she said.

Alberto Lazaro, president of the state Water and Sewer Authority, said he will evaluate scientists' findings before deciding how to proceed in several weeks.

He said the treatment plant is needed because people are discharging sewage into the lagoon and nearby ocean. The plant, which is to be completed by 2016, was approved by the territory's Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which is providing the funding.

"The goal of the project is to conserve this valuable resource, and we have designed and developed this project taking all those requirements into account," Lazaro said.

Laura Velez, who heads the government Environmental Quality Board that monitors such projects, said that the treatment plant has had adequate erosion and sediment control and that officials have regularly inspected it to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, which manages the lagoon and surrounding areas, collects water samples three times a week to record data including temperature, salinity and precipitation. Guerrero said scientists will analyze that data to help solve the mystery of the darkening lagoon.

Miguel Sastre, a biology professor at the University of Puerto Rico who has long studied Fajardo's bioluminescent lagoon, one of three in the territory, said it went nearly dark in 2003 for unknown reasons, but rebounded a couple of months later.

He said in a phone interview that his main concern this time is the construction of the water and sewage treatment plant because it coincides with the drop in bioluminescence.

"We have to take action and evaluate the situation," Sastre said. "We should do our utmost to help preserve these sites." - TWC.

AGE OF OBAMA & THE DAWN OF THE AGE OF AQUARIUS: Knowing Thyself And The Precursors To The End Of The Piscean Age Of Belief And The Externalization Of God - For Fourth Straight Year, Obama’s Thanksgiving Message Doesn’t Thank God; U.S. Air Force Drops "So Help Me God" From Oaths; And Obama Removes "God" From Gettysburg Address!

November 20, 2013 - UNITED STATES - Here are three stories out of the United States, two featuring President Obama, sparking rounds of backlash from right-wingers and Christians, over a curious omission - the reference to "God."

For Fourth Straight Year, Obama’s Thanksgiving Message Doesn’t Thank God.

Yet again, President Obama’s Thanksgiving message eschewed any direct reference to thanking God, making this the fourth straight year in which the President of the United States has ignored the central message of the holiday in favor of political grandstanding.

This year, Obama’s central message was that now that he’s been re-elected, Americans should agree with all of his policies. His unity routine sounds strangely empty after a campaign in which he focused on dividing Americans:

But most of all, it’s a time to give thanks for each other, and for the incredible bounty we enjoy.

That’s especially important this year.  As a nation, we’ve just emerged from a campaign season that was passionate, noisy, and vital to our democracy.  But it also required us to make choices – and sometimes those choices led us to focus on what sets us apart instead of what ties us together; on what candidate we support instead of what country we belong to ….

We’re also grateful that this country has always been home to Americans who see these blessings not simply as gifts to enjoy, but as opportunities to give back.  Americans who believe we have a responsibility to look out for those less fortunate – to pull each other up and move forward together.

How are we supposed to move forward together, you ask? Why, with greater government spending, of course!

As for God, here was the only mention – as a throwaway line in a hackneyed aphorism, used constantly by this president for communitarian sloganeering:

As Americans, we are a bold, generous, big-hearted people.  When our brothers and sisters are in need, we roll up our sleeves and get to work – not for the recognition or the reward, but because it’s the right thing to do.  Because there but for the grace of God go I.  And because here in America, we rise or fall together, as one nation and one people.

No mention of thanking God. None.

But, of course, we’re used to this. In 2011, there was no mention of God at all. In 2010, Obama was closer, but still missed the mark (‘we’ll spend some time taking stock of what we’re thankful for: the God-given bounty of America, and the blessings of one another’). In 2009, Obama didn’t thank God, either.

Compare that to Obama’s Thanksgiving Day proclamations, which he does not read or speak. Those are filled with God – at least for the last three years. In his first year, filled with the vim and vigor of his original election, Obama preferred to eschew any direct thanking of God even in his proclamation.

2012: “On Thanksgiving Day, individuals from all walks of life come together to celebrate this most American tradition, grateful for the blessings of family, community, and country. Let us spend this day by lifting up those we love, mindful of the grace bestowed upon us by God and by all who have made our lives richer with their presence.”

2011: “As we gather in our communities and in our homes, around the table or near the hearth, we give thanks to each other and to God for the many kindnesses and comforts that grace our lives.  Let us pause to recount the simple gifts that sustain us, and resolve to pay them forward in the year to come.”

2010: “As Americans gather for the time-honored Thanksgiving Day meal, let us rejoice in the abundance that graces our tables, in the simple gifts that mark our days, in the loved ones who enrich our lives, and in the gifts of a gracious God.”

Of course, nobody sees these proclamations, so Obama doesn’t have to be embarrassed about them.

It’s no wonder that this President’s Democratic National Committee platform tried to remove God. He’s not a big fan of the Big Guy. Even on Thanksgiving. After all, what need do you have for God when you’ve got the state? - Breitbart.

U.S. Air Force Drops "So Help Me God" From Oaths.
Cadet Bradely Dewees recites the oath of office along with his fellow Air Force
Academy cadets on his way to becoming a second lieutenant during the
graduation ceremony May 27 2009. (US Air Force Public Affairs)
The Air Force Academy has admitted they removed the phrase ‘so help me God’ from three oaths in the 2012 edition of their official cadet handbook, Fox News has learned.

The revelation came after more than two dozen members of Congress sent a letter to Academy Supt. Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson demanding that she explain why the phrase was removed.

The lawmakers contend the 2012 edition of the Contrails Cadet Handbook excludes the phrase ‘so help me God’ in the Cadet’s Oath of allegiance, the Oath of Office for Officers and the Oath of Enlistment.

‘The Constitution does not require that this phrase be scrubbed from the oath,’ read the letter drafted by Rep. Jim Bridenstein (R-Okla.) and signed by 28 lawmakers. ‘The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the establishment of religion’ however, the inclusion of the phrase ‘so help me God’ in an oath of service does not rise to this level.’

Bridenstein said ‘editing the oath for all Academy students is extreme and unnecessary, and does a disservice to the countless individuals who wish to include the phrase as a solemn reminder that they are pledging their fidelity to God and country.’

Air Force Academy spokesman Maj. Brus Vidal told me the omission was a simple mistake.

‘It was an editorial oversight,’ he said. ‘We learned within the last few weeks there was a problem.’

Vidal said there was no reasoning behind the omission and there was no forethought.

‘Whoever was doing the editing didn’t catch it,’ he said...

Last month, the Air Force Academy was embroiled in another controversy involving ‘so help me God’ after they decided to make it an optional part of the Honor Oath. - FOX News.

Obama Removes "God" From Gettysburg Address.
Washington DC talk show host Chris Plante reported today that Barack Obama omitted the words ‘under God’ from the Gettysburg Address when reciting the great speech for a Ken Burns documentary.

Burns had filmed all living presidents as well as various Hollywood personalities and luminaries to pay homage to the speech which was delivered by Abraham Lincoln 150 years ago, today.

Coast Guard crews earlier recovered the bodies of two other people aboard the aircraft, but rescuers continue to hope that missing crew members survived and are clinging to life in the warm south Florida waters. The search will go on at least all day Wednesday, the Coast Guard said.

"In these types of cases, we hope for the best and we search for as long as we can," Chief Petty Officer Ryan Doss told reporters Wednesday.

Coast Guard crews, divers from the Broward County Sheriff's Office and other rescuers were involved in the search, which spanned up to 30 miles of Florida coastline from Fort Lauderdale to Boynton Beach, Doss said. Currents are carrying the debris north, he said.

The Learjet 35 -- carrying a doctor, nurse and two pilots, all of them Mexican citizens -- crashed shortly after one of the pilots reported apparent engine failure shortly after takeoff Tuesday evening from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The crew had just dropped a patient off at the airport and was returning to Mexico when the crash happened, airport spokesman Greg Meyer said.

Authorities said a boat crew located the wreckage of the private plane about two miles
(3.2km) northeast of Fort Lauderdale airport, where the jet had taken off.

A distress call from one of the pilots came just moments after takeoff.

"We have an engine failure," the pilot said.

An air traffic controller asked him to turn left and keep a certain altitude.

"Not possible," the pilot responded. "We're going to do a 180, and we're going to land."

Seconds later, he said: "Mayday, mayday, mayday."

The two medical staff members worked for Air Evac International, said Albert Carson, the company's director of operations. The pilots worked for a charter company.

Authorities have not publicly identified the bodies pending notification of their families.

"We're waiting on pins and needles ... waiting for more information," Carson said late Tuesday night.

Air Evac International has several bases in Mexican cities that are popular with tourists, as well as in Costa Rica and San Diego. Carson said many of its patients are tourists.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash, but its investigators were not yet on the scene Wednesday morning, Doss said. - CNN.

Three small planes flying in or headed to Mexico have crashed in two days, leaving at least six people dead and two missing.

A Mexican-registered Cessna 150 crashed Tuesday afternoon shortly after takeoff from Mina International Airport in the Gulf coast city of Tampico in northeastern Tamaulipas state. The pilot and passenger were killed, authorities said.

Three small planes flying in or headed to Mexico have crashed in two days,
leaving at least six people dead and two missing.

Later in the day, a Learjet that left the airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for Cozumel, Mexico, plunged into the Atlantic with four people aboard, a U.S. official said.

The Learjet 35, with a Mexican registration, went down in the sea after taking off from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said in an email.

The Coast Guard said in a news release late Tuesday that search crews had found the wreckage about 2 miles (about 3 kilometers) northeast of the airport. It said two deaths were confirmed and a search continued for the two others who were aboard the plane.

On Monday, the pilot and a passenger were killed in the crash of a small plane in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz. The Civil Aviation Office said the Mexican-registered plane took off from the northern state of Nuevo Leon and crashed in the mountains of Veracruz, just short of its intended destination, the Veracruz state capital of Xalapa. - ABC13 News.

MASS MAMMAL DIE-OFF: Four Whales Dead After 8 Were Stranded On A Beach In New Caledonia?!

November 20, 2013 - PACIFIC OCEAN - Eight whales, four died, were stranded on a beach in New Caledonia, scientists said Tuesday, residents questioning the role of a nickel plant in the Vale grounding.

One of the eight whales, stranded on a beach in New Caledonia.

The group appeared Saturday in the Somme south of New Caledonia. Monday night, two whales about six meters were still there .

Despite attempts by the teams and the southern province of Operation Cetaceans Association for repelling animals off four whales died in breaking on the beach.

According to experts, it would be of Longman 's beaked whales, a rare species never seen in New Caledonia, which is usually found in the Indo- Pacific Ocean.

The inhabitants of this region, where Kanak tribes live, questioning the link between this grounding and break last week with a discharge pipe to the sea of waste a huge chemical plant processing nickel located in the region, and belonging to the Brazilian giant Vale .

"We really can not answer this type of question for the moment," said however told AFP Claire Garrigue, an expert with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN ), a specialist in cetaceans.

At a cost of $ 6 billion, the hydrometallurgical plant Vale, Seveso 2, went into production in 2013 after twelve years of construction , interspersed with a host of technical problems and disputes with local communities .

It was to produce 24,000 tons of nickel oxide in 2013, but some observers believe that it will be "just half ".

Some 300 people demonstrated on Monday to demand a total overhaul of plant operating conditions, stop after another incident on November 11.

With a long, thin snout, the Longman 's beaked whale, fairly large, usually lives off in waters more than 1,000 meters deep.

"If they are there is that they are sick or they are confused. We await the results of samples taken from the dead whales to learn more," said Ms. Garrigue.

According to her, no more than a dozen whale strandings of this species has been observed previously.

Three dead whales were buried on municipal land the town of Mont -Dore, so that scientists can later access the skeletons, the newspaper reported The New Caledonian. - France 24.

ICE AGE NOW: Second Surge Of Arctic Blasts Of Cold Air Begin To Invade The United States - Coldest Air Of The Season So Far; Accompanied By Strong, Gusty Winds And "Painful" Below-Zero Temperatures!

November 20, 2013 - UNITED STATES - The coldest air of the season so far is beginning to invade the Central states. A second surge of Arctic air will push into the East this weekend.

Air originating from above the Arctic Circle will race southeastward across the Plains during the middle of the week and will reach the Midwest Friday.

The frigid air will be accompanied by strong, gusty winds that will drive RealFeel® temperatures to painful levels for those who have to be outdoors for any length of time, without warm clothing.

According to AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Andy Mussoline, "The air mass has been producing below-zero temperatures on the North Slope of Alaska, and while it will modify moving southward and eastward, it will mean business as it enters the United States."

The same air mass due to enter the U.S. this week was producing temperatures ranging from 10 to 50 below zero over parts of Canada's Yukon and Northwest Territories Tuesday morning.

As the Arctic air sweeps in it will replace temperatures in the 50s, 60s and 70s with temperatures in the teens, 20s and 30s. In portions of the Plains and Midwest, this transition will occur in a matter of hours.

Gusts past 40 mph will be frequent and could cause flight delays as the waves of cold air spread from the northern Plains to the Midwest and East.

From parts of Montana to North Dakota and Minnesota, high temperatures will be in the teens for one or more days with RealFeel temperatures hovering in the single digits and dipping below zero at times.

Farther south from parts of South Dakota and Nebraska, eastward to Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, highs will be in the 20s on one or more days with RealFeel temperatures in the teens and single digits.

As the cold air pushes southward, it will produce a period of snow along the Front Range of the Rockies, including Denver. Snow will also mark the arrival of cold air over the Upper Midwest, with rain falling farther south.

Portions of the central Appalachians and the Ohio Valley will have the first day with subfreezing temperatures throughout the daylight hours Sunday.

For folks combing through debris in search of valuables and irreplaceable items in the wake of the devastating Midwest tornadoes, the cold wave with its biting winds will be an additional hardship.

The Arctic outbreak will also unleash a round of flurries and locally heavy lake-effect snow from the Upper Midwest to the central Appalachians. There is the potential for a foot or more of snow, where the bands of snow persist.

A significant amount of cold air will drive into Texas and the Deep South. Most areas that had a freeze earlier in the month will be hit again. However, some locations along the upper part of the Gulf Coast that escaped the worst of the chill will get a frost or freeze this time. Only South Texas and central and southern Florida will escape frost.

High school and college football fans will be shivering this weekend, as will many cold-hardy NFL fans on Sunday.

A small part of the Arctic air will break off and deliver the first freeze of the season to Seattle and Portland, Ore., Wednesday night.

Indications are the worst of the cold air will depart the Central and Eastern states by the middle of next week in time for holiday travelers. However, some rough cold air may linger from around the Upper Midwest to northern New England.

A storm in the South will have to be watch for a possible northward turn along the Atlantic coast during the middle of Thanksgiving week. - AccuWeather.

MASS MAMMAL DIE-OFF: Disaster Precursors Warning From Mother Nature To The Vatican - 165 Turtles Have Washed Ashore Dead During The Past Month On The Northeast Coast Of Italy?!

November 20, 2013 - ITALY - In the northern Adriatic is a real massacre. Cause? Mystery. About 165 turtles (of which 15 in the last twenty-four hours) death came in bunches in a short time on the beaches of Emilia Romagna and Friuli , and yet the turtles Caretta caretta are solitary animals, as well as rare and ultra protected. No turtle ( as far as we know ) was found on the beaches of Veneto, no in Slovenia and Croatia. Probably winds and currents have concentrated on limited portions of carcasses coast. The explanations are various and opposite. The phenomenon is so severe that a little while ago ARPA Emilia Romagna has issued a press release.

At the press of ARPA Emilia must be the only attempt to put some order in numbers : from October were a total of 35 turtles stranded in Friuli (especially in the Lagoon of Marano) and about 130 in Emilia Romagna. It' an "abnormal event" because the carcasses are concentrated in small areas and are far, far more in number than the norm. You can not say that the phenomenon has ended.

In fact (and here I am speaking) the turtles are coming to shore in a macabre death almost "growing" Rossini. The phenomenon has emerged for the first time early in the month: the foundation Cetacea spoke of 51 turtles found dead between 3 and 15 October in Emilia Romagna, in the area between Cervia and Ferrara ( in 12 days one-third of the specimens normally found dead in a year), and the animals had "fractures and bruises" such as to suggest that they had been dragged and tossed fishing nets (then just re-opened after the closed season) and then thrown overboard, dead or dying, fishermen .

Follows news (October 31) of 12 turtles found dead on the beaches of Grado, Friuli: Because hypothesized, the underwater explosion caused by hydrocarbon exploration. A few days off and 12 November Rimini News announces 32 turtles that are stranded in a few hours in one day yesterday , then , two dolphins and a turtle in Bibione and two turtles in the area of Ravenna, with a total budget rose to 150 animals (today they were joined by 15) and a summit Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Padua excluded poisoning or various chemical agents , the main hypothesis becomes that of the virus or bacterium ("the only thing that is repeated on several turtles found bleeding is the pectoral muscles and a sterile gut") which is apparently undisputed that the turtles died as suddenly and until recently before were in good health.

L'Arpa Emilia Romagna today calls into question instead of new fishing nets: "Therefore, there remains the possibility that the main cause is related to fishing with bottom trawls is exercised by the method to 'tartan' than with 'flying'. The capture is not intended to be considered in all cases accidental. To substantiate this hypothesis are the reports of the Zooprofilattico of Ferrara and Bologna University (Veterinary Medicine) that show in the specimens examined edema, limb fractures, injuries to the neck." That is pretty much it was back to the starting point and the first explanation, in chronological order, the date on memory.

I'm no vet, but the two explanations appear to be really difficult to reconcile: either the turtles were in good health except for the bleeding of the pectoral muscles and the "sterile gut" (known in simpler words, poor intestinal flora ) or were all fractured and sbatacchiate from the nets of fishing boats. The fact remains that the turtles are dying in bunches and that the Caretta caretta are rare and protected. In the northern Adriatic, undoubtedly, there is something wrong. - Blogeko. [Translated]

GLOBAL VOLCANISM: Global Volcano Report For November 20, 2013 - Updates On Fuego, Colima, Etna, Klyuchevskoy, Sinabung, Yasur, Santiaguito And Pacaya!

November 20, 2013 - WORLDWIDE VOLCANOES - The following constitutes the new activity, unrest and ongoing reports of volcanoes across the globe.

Fuego (Guatemala): Two lava flows are active on the upper slopes of the volcano at the moment, to the Taniluya (south) and Ceniza canyon (SE). The effusive activity started on 11 Nov and increased on 18 November, reaching a length of 600 m. Constant avalanches detach from the flow fronts.

Lava flows on Fuego on November 19 into Taniluya (left) and Ceniza (right) canyons.

At the same time, explosive activity at the summit crater remained at low to moderate levels, with strombolian explosions that produce ash plumes of up to 800 m height and incandescent jets visible from distance. Some of the explosions generate shock waves that can be felt and heard in up to 15 km distance, causing roofs, doors and windows of houses to rattle.

Fine ash fall occurred in Panimaché, Morelia abd Sangre de Cristo.

Colima (Mexico):  On Monday night and this morning , the volcano showed two strong exhalations ; has thrown lava down its slopes and ash that reached several villages.

Since last Sunday, the Volcan de Fuego de Colima was reactivated after several weeks of apparent calm and until Tuesday registered between 30 and 35 puffs per day , spewing lava down its slopes and ash that reached the people of Cheese , municipality of Cuauhtémoc , Colima , and some towns in the state of Jalisco.

Yesterday at 21:45 hours this morning between 8:00 and 8:30 am , the volcano emitted two strong exhalations heard that reached in the communities closest to the " granite colossus " , mainly in the municipalities of Comala and Cuauhtémoc.

From the city of Colima there was a big cloud of steam that rose to just over 2 miles.

The chief operating officer of the State System of Civil Protection , Melchor Ursua Quiroz, said: "The volcano has been recharged " and in the last two days has been sharp exhalations , which caused that the body was installed in " alert phase " before this new volcanic activity.

Ursua said that the exhalations Quiroz registered so far, between 30 and 35 , are water vapor , once in the mountainous area of the state, bordering Jalisco north , there has been heavy rainfall .

He said those exhalations were accompanied by light columns of lava that caused lahars ( ash , volcanic stone , mud and water ) on the slopes of the volcano, which have been deposited in the canyons and streams of the Cordobán and the Hearth , " the latter was saturated volcanic material and will need to get heavy machinery for cleaning and desludging " .

So far there have been about 100 slides from the cone to the slopes of the volcano.

The Civil Protection chief operating officer of Colima said one of these exhalations spewed ash into the population of Cheese , with no security risk status of the population.

He also said that there is "a warning to the population," which does not mean that there is intention evacuations , as this alert is intended only for people to be on the lookout for information on the conditions under which the colossus .

The Colima Volcano is currently one of the busiest in the country and is the most monitored , however much of its equipment is damaged or it has been stolen and require replacement.

Etna (Sicily, Italy):  Weak explosive (sporadic small strombolian eruptions) and effusive activity (weakly alimented lava flow from eastern fissure vent) continues at a decreasing trend.

Current tremor signal. (ESLN station, INGV Catania)

Weak glow from the eastern effusive vent at Etna's New SE crater.

There are interesting small surges of activity at rhythmic intervals of 3-4 hours (visible as the smaller peaks in the tremor signal).

Klyuchevskoy (Kamchatka): Eruptive activity remains high with ongoing mild to strong explosions at the summit. A particularly intense phase yesterday produced a plume rising to 10-12 km altitude that extended SE. Today, activity has decreased, but plumes continue to reach 5-6 km altitude and drift N and NE.

Sinabung (Sumatra, Indonesia): A new explosion was reported this morning (around 7:30 UTC), sending an ash plume to estimated 30,000 ft (9 km) altitude. The 9-kilometre-high ash cloud from Mount Sinabung dwarfs this villager in the north of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, on Monday.

The volcano rumbled back to life in 2010 after lying dormant for hundreds of years. More than 6000 local people have been evacuated to temporary shelters – some had yet to return home following an eruption earlier this month. Two thousand, five hundred kilometers away on Java, another Indonesian volcano also exploded into activity yesterday. Mount Merapi killed hundreds of people when it last erupted in 2010.

Yasur (Tanna Island, Vanuatu): Geohazards reports that the volcano continues to produce near-continuous ash emissions while explosions are relatively weak. This phase of ash emissions began on 3 November and are likely to continue into the coming days and weeks.

Yasur Alert Level is still maintained at Level 1.

Villages and communities located close and far away from the volcano, especially those in the prevailing trade winds direction (NW) are likely to receive ash falls.

Santa María / Santiaguito (Guatemala): No significant changes in activity have occurred over the past days. INSIVUMEH reports weak explosions and continuing incandescent block avalanches from the active lava flow on the NE side of the Caliente dome.

Pacaya (Guatemala): INSIVUMEH reports ongoing mild to moderate strombolian activity with ejections of lava to up to 75 meters. Intervals between bursts are 20 seconds to one minute.

FUK-U-SHIMA: Perpetual Radiation - Various Scientists Warn That Nuclear Meltdown At Fukushima Is A Warning To The World; Work Could Go On For 10,000 YEARS; And Another Mega-Quake Would Be "Final Blow" For Japan As New Radioactive Water Leaks Are Reported!

November 20, 2013 - JAPAN - Naomi Hirose, president of the company that runs Fukushima, said Britain’s nuclear industry must be 'prepared for the worst'

The man in charge of Japan’s crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has warned that the meltdown of the plant in 2011 contains important lessons for the British government and its plans to build new nuclear power stations.

Naomi Hirose, president of the company that runs Fukushima, Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), said the triple meltdown following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan was a “warning to the world” and that Britain’s nuclear industry must be “prepared for the worst”.

Speaking to the Guardian, he said that despite what the nuclear industry and the public wanted to believe, nuclear power was not 100 per cent safe.

"But we have to explain, no matter how small a possibility, what if this [safety] barrier is broken? We have to prepare a plan if something happens … It is easy to say this is almost perfect so we don't have to worry about it. But we have to keep thinking: what if …" he told the paper.

Mr Hirose said that small measures could have been adopted at Fukushima that would have prevented the meltdown following the March 2011 tsunami being so severe. He said Tepco was willing to share the lessons it had learned since the disaster with Britain.

"What happened at Fukushima was, yes, a warning to the world," he said.

"Try to examine all the possibilities, no matter how small they are, and don't think any single counter-measure is foolproof. Think about all different kinds of small counter-measures, not just one big solution. There's not one single answer.

"We made a lot of excuses to ourselves … Looking back, seals on the doors, one little thing, could have saved everything."

WATCH:   Work at Fukushima plant to go on for 10,000 years.

Radioactive Water Leaks Reported At Fukushima.
The crippled nuclear power plant in Okumamachi, Fukushima, northern Japan.

New video footage showed leaks within the plant’s broken reactors which means that damaged atomic rods could not be taken out as planned.

The nuclear power station’s operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) detected 30 millisieverts per hour of radiation, which is regarded as a high reading.

“It’s very difficult to remove a spent rod because parts of the wall and the bottom of the reactor are all melted. We’ve never had to deal with this before so that adds to the complication,” said Kazuaki Matsui, the executive director of Japan’s Institute of Applied Energy.

The flowing of the contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean has concerned the international community.

On October 3, TEPCO said that Japanese technicians had found a new leak of radioactive water in a storage tank belonging to the damaged power station.

In August, 300 tons of radioactive water was found to have leaked from a separate tank.

TEPCO has long struggled to control waste water at the plant.

On March 11, 2011, a nine-magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami that inflicted heavy damage on the six-reactor Fukushima plant. The cooling systems of the plant’s reactors were knocked out, leading to meltdowns and the release of radioactive material.

A report released by a Japanese parliamentary panel in July said the disaster in Fukushima was not only due to the tsunami, but also a “man-made disaster.”

The report criticized the “government, regulatory authorities and Tokyo Electric Power Company” for being devoid of “a sense of responsibility to protect people’s lives and society.” - Press TV.

Nuclear Professor Says Another Mega-Quake Would Be "Final Blow" For Japan.
Should we be worried [about the fuel removal at Fukushima? Dr. Suh Kune-yull, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Seoul National University: Yeah. There’s good reason to be. Actually, they’re talking about removing these fuel bundles -- 1,500 of them -- if there’s any one mistake, it’s going to be a disaster. That source itself is like a 1,000 nuclear bombs. Think about Hiroshima, so they’re talking about 10,000 times more radioactive material. That’s the hottest spot on the planet...

Why did it take over 2 years to get to this point? Dr. Suh Kune-yull: It’s not actually long enough in fact. […] They’re talking about 3 totally molten reactors plus Unit 4 which is 1,500 fuel bundles high up in the air […] it looks like they’re just moving forward, probably politically, not technically...

Would you eat fish after more than 30 years of radiation leakage into ocean? […] Dr. Suh Kune-yull: It’s a matter of public trust. Both the Japanese and Korean governments have dropped the ball on that. They’ve lost the public trust. No matter what they say we’re not listening. I’m not listening, either...

If there’s to be an earthquake or tsunami, what would be the consequences be like? […] Dr. Suh Kune-yull: Another earthquake — there will be a real disaster, a real final blow — because one more earthquake or even tsunami and they can ruin the rest of the plants.  […] There’s going to be a real disaster, which we can hardly imagine. […] What can they do about it? Just keep their fingers crossed. - Arirang.

FIRE IN THE SKY: Another Outburst From Comet ISON - The Production Of Gas And Dust Surged Another Six-Fold; Rising Magnitude Near +4.0, Well Above Threshold Of Naked-Eye Visibility!

November 20, 2013 - SPACE - Astronomers working with the TRAPPIST telescope at ESO's La Silla Observatory report that Comet ISON's production of gas and dust surged another six-fold during the early hours of Nov. 19th. This marks the second outburst since Nov. 13th.

Experienced observers put the comet's rising magnitude near +4.0, well above the threshold of naked-eye visibility. The problem is, ISON is approaching the sun and becoming increasingly difficult to observe. Shahrin Ahmad of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, photographed the comet's green core framed by twilight blue on the morning of Nov. 19th:

The situation is only going to worsen as the comet plunges toward its Nov. 28th close encounter with the sun. Amateur photography of the comet will be possible for a few more days and, soon, only NASA's fleet of solar observatories will be able to track the sundiver.

Despite the recent outbursts, which could have been caused by a break up of ISON's nucleus, astronomers with NASA's Comet ISON Observing Campaign believe that the comet is still intact. It will need to be to survive next week's hellish plunge through the sun's atmosphere. If it does survive--a big IF--it could emerge as a splendid naked-eye object for sky watchers in the northern hemisphere.

In the days that follow, STEREO-B, SOHO and the Solar Dynamics Observatory will join the hunt, providing continuous views of Comet ISON all the way to perihelion.
